At Sujjivah Center for Mental Health, we provide specialized care for individuals struggling with Trauma and Stress-Related Disorders, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Acute Stress Disorder, and Adjustment Disorders. These conditions can deeply affect a person’s emotional and psychological well-being, but with the right support, healing and recovery are possible.
PTSD occurs after an individual experiences or witnesses a traumatic event. Symptoms include intrusive memories, flashbacks, nightmares, emotional numbness, and heightened arousal. Our treatment for PTSD includes trauma-focused therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), alongside medication management to help individuals process trauma and regain a sense of control over their lives.
Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) occurs shortly after a traumatic event, with symptoms similar to PTSD, such as anxiety, irritability, and intrusive memories. While ASD can resolve on its own, treatment can help reduce the risk of developing PTSD. We offer brief interventions that focus on stress management, relaxation techniques, and coping strategies to prevent long-term emotional difficulties.
Adjustment Disorders are triggered by significant life changes or stressors, such as a breakup, job loss, or major health issue. These stressors lead to emotional or behavioral symptoms like sadness, anxiety, and difficulty adjusting to the new situation. At Sujjivah, we provide therapy aimed at helping individuals process the stressor, develop effective coping mechanisms, and adapt to life’s challenges in a healthier way.
Our integrative approach combines psychological therapy, support, and medication to treat trauma and stress-related disorders. At Sujjivah, we are committed to helping individuals heal and regain stability in their lives.
